The compound sits north of town up County Road 400, inside the gate at Hidden Valley Ranch. Pagosa itself is in the San Juan Mountains in the far south-west corner of Colorado, built around the deepest geothermal hot spring on record. The San Juan River runs through the middle of it. Wolf Creek Ski Area — which reliably takes more snow than anywhere else in the state — is fifty minutes east. Two and a half million acres of national forest start fifteen minutes north.
It is a real town, not a resort: a hospital, a grocery, a hardware store, a school district, and people who are still here in March. Stevens Field, twenty minutes away, has an 8,100 foot runway and a full-service FBO — so a business jet can put you at the gate faster than most people get through a major airport.

Getting there: From downtown Pagosa Springs, head north on County Road 400 (Fourmile Road) for roughly six miles to the gated entrance of Hidden Valley Ranch, then continue to Hidden Valley Drive. County Road 400 is paved, county-maintained and plowed through the winter.
